CITY OF FRANKLIN
Franklin is organizing community volunteers who are available to support neighbors with non-medical needs during this time of physical distancing. If you want to be added to their volunteer team to help someone who needs food or prescriptions delivered, help to find childcare, or someone to call and check on them, please call 414.301.1489 or click HERE.

WRITE TO RESIDENTS
Write an encouraging note or have your children draw a picture for a resident at Brenwood Park Assisted Living or Tudor Oaks Senior Living Community. Seniors living in both of these facilities are unable to leave and unable to have visitors. Let's put a smile on their faces and help them to know they are not alone! Please address your envelope to "Resident" and their staff will distribute them.

FRIEDENS COMMUNITY MINISTRIES (A NETWORK OF FOOD PANTRIES)
Some of their pantries are seeing a 30%+ increase in need, while at the same time they've seen a decrease in # of volunteers.
They have a variety of opportunities (remote and in-person) for folks looking to help in meaningful ways at a time of increased insecurity for many families in the community. Some options include food pick-ups, unloading deliveries, restocking shelves, and bagging food. Every bit of support makes a huge difference right now to make sure much needed food and supplies are reaching those who need it most. Contact their Executive Director Sophia Torrijos by email or phone (319-538-4755) for more information.

Update: March 25, 2020

Things continue to change daily.

As you probably know, Governor Tony Evers announced that the new "Safer at Home" order will be in effect for the next month. The order went into effect at 8am today (Wednesday, March 25, 2020) and will remain in effect until 8am on April 24. Because of this, we will not return to church on April 5 as we had hoped, but will remain worshipping together online through April.

Our Church Office and Building will remain closed and Small Groups are encouraged to meet digitally during this time.

We want to continue to serve and care for our church family. If you have a need or a prayer request, would you please let us know? In addition, if you are able and looking for a place to serve in the midst of all this, please reach out. Email us at info@southbrookministries.org. We also want to be a source of encouragement and hope through all of this. If you'd like to receive texts with encouraging Bible verses daily for the next few weeks, text "SMS Opt-in" to 414.240.2163.

MESSAGE FROM JONATHAN WORSHIP PLAYLIST MARCH 15 SERMON

Update: March 18, 2020

As you all likely know, things are changing constantly and rapidly with COVID-19.

The latest recommendation for gatherings from our President, which is also advised by the CDC, is to suspend gatherings of 10 people or more. Because of this, we will not have church in person, but we will have a way for you to still participate in worship from your home. Due to the nature of how much things are changing, we can't say for sure when we will be able to worship together in person again - but as of right now, our hope is to suspend in person gatherings until April 3rd and be back for church on Sunday, April 5th. Please know that this could very well change, and we will keep you up to date with any changes.

Our Church Office and Building will be closed through April 3rd for any group of 10 people or more. Small Groups are encouraged to meet digitally during this time.

We know this time can be lonely and cause anxiety. We want to provide ways for you to stay connected to your church family and continue to grow spiritually. Parents of Kids and Students, we want to help your kids stay engaged throughout this time too. Pastor Helen and Pastor Nikki will be communicating with you through email.

Update: March 16, 2020

Our Church Office will be closed for the foreseeable future.

Update: March 13, 2020

Southbrook Family,

I want you to know that Southbrook is actively engaged with the City of Franklin Health Department as well as talking with local public health medical professionals. To that end, I want to take a moment to communicate with you what we are doing in light of the fears and reality of the Coronavirus. You are loved, and we value you as well as our local communities.

Both the City of Franklin Health Department and the Wisconsin Department of Health have advised that gatherings of 250+ should not meet as a way of helping to avoid spreading the Coronavirus. In response to this, we will be suspending our services on March 15 and 22. It is too soon to know if we will have services on the 29th, but we will continue to update you through email, our website and social media.

This is a short term solution, designed to help us "flatten the curve." You can read more about that HERE.

This Sunday morning, we will send an email that will include links to the worship songs that were planned, a message from me, as well as the sermon from Krista Heinen, who was scheduled to speak this weekend. Let me encourage you to watch and stay engaged spiritually as we are continuing our Lenten series.

Southbrook's building will stay open during the week, and groups of less than 250 can continue to use our facility as scheduled.

While this is an unprecedented time in the history of our church and society, it is an opportunity for us to model the love of Jesus to our local communities. Let us be on the lookout and check in with those who are lonely, less fortunate, or who may be in need of encouragement. Reaching out and running errands for someone who is afraid or who is not able to make it to the store would be a great way of being the hands and feet of Jesus.

This is a great time to be praying for the leadership of our nation, as well as our state and our local governments.

Please stay connected through all of this. Check in with your small group, be praying for each other, and let's heed the medical advice that is driving these decisions.

Please send prayer requests to Prayer@SouthbrookMinistries.org. General questions can be sent to Sarah at SarahK@SouthbrookMinistries.org.

If you normally give during offering on Sunday mornings, we encourage you to give digitally. You can give online HERE or give through text by texting "SBGIVE" to 77977. Once you are registered, all you need to do is text the dollar amount you'd like to give and it will be applied.

Your Southbrook Staff will continue to care for us all and will be available to respond to our needs.
